Starting in 1872 Captain Carl Kruse and his schooner Punkeri provided a regular shipping service on the lakes and down the Coorong until she sank near the Milang jetty in 1890. She was replaced by the Ada and Clara built in 1891. Captain Kruse died in 1911, aged 88. |
