Duke of Edinburgh's Tree

Prince Albert, Duke of Edinburgh visited Milang on 16th November 1867 on the way to Meningie and returned on the 23rd. On both occasions the local riflemen formed a guard of honour and a royal salute was fired from a cannon which still stands in Memorial Park. The Duke planted a willow slip to commemorate the occasion which has grown into the present tree.
